Sankukai is based on natural reactions, many of the moves are in the form of an evasion technique, ie blocking whilst escaping and counter attacking with the most appropriate technique. This avoids direct conflict with what could be a heavier and more powerful opponent. It is therefore ideally suited for both male and female, all age groups. Size does not matter.
Although our group is Martial Art orientated there are still opportunities within the Association for any member to enter the competition side of karate.
As members of Federation of English Karate Organisations (FEKO) Karate England (KE) World Karate Confederation (WKC) and World Union of Karate-Do Federations (WUKF) access is available to their course and competitions. With many children in the Martial Arts it is essential that they are taught correctly, not just in the performance of techniques but also in the exercises they do. Poor teaching methods can lead to lasting damage in later life.
